I now get the flutters I was looking for, the slinkier feel of the springs, whilst being able to do double stops without the trem wavering. Per Gotoh PSP ini lbh keras daripada saudara kandungnya yg tipe SP. I subsequently set up my EVH Wolfgang USA with two stock springs without any difficulty. I also compared the stock Gotoh Floyd springs to the stock EVH Wolfgang USA Floyd springs, and other than a more polished looking Gotoh product, I could not discern any difference between the two in length, nor in gauge. You can use two stock springs with a Floyd Rose guitar, you just have to adjust the spring claw to account for the difference in tension. PROMISED UPDATE 01/17/17: After ordering the Gotoh PSP springs and setting up the EVH Wolfgang USA, I did not care for the stiffer feel of the 2 PSP springs. What type of spring would I need to be able to use a two spring setup? I use 9-42 strings. Gotoh has both vintage-oriented stuff and modern options. There’s also a wider choice in terms of visual traits. Meanwhile, Gotoh offers several more ratio variants. Grover usually comes with an 18:1 ratio and some with 16:1 or 14:1. I much prefer the looser feel of two springs. There’s also a wider choice of gear ratio variants. The springs supplied with the guitar are too weak to keep the bridge flat when bending or doing double stops. The Floyd lowers pitch only, = non-floating. I'd like to decrease that to two springs. I've got a guitar equipped with a Floyd Rose bridge, and three springs.
